Nigerian Language Studies (NILAS) journal adopts a gold access model, which means that:

  • NILAS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of N35,000 (Thirty-Five Thousand Naira only) or $100 (one hundred US dollars) for each article accepted for publication.
  • Authors or their institutions are responsible for paying the APC.
  • Upon payment of the APC, articles will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY-4.0) and made freely available online.

Self-Archiving Policy:

  • NILAS allows authors to self-archive their articles in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or national repositories.
  • Authors may deposit the following versions:
    - Pre-print (author's original manuscript)
    - Post-print (author's accepted manuscript after peer review)
    - Publisher's version (final published version)
  • Authors may self-archive their articles at any time after publication.
  • Deposited articles must include complete metadata, including title, authors, abstract, and DOI.
  • NILAS reserves the right to modify or update this policy as needed.
  • Authors are encouraged to consult with their institutions or funding agencies to determine if they have any specific policies or requirements regarding open access publishing.
