Nigerian Language Studies (NILAS) journal adopts a gold access model, which means that:

  • NILAS charges an assessment fee N5, 000 (Five Thousand Naira) for manuscripts submitted within Nigeria or $10 (Ten US dollars) for manuscripts from outside Nigeria.
  • Authors or their institutions are responsible for paying the assessment fee.
  • All assessed articles that meet the Journal’s expectations shall be published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY-4.0) and made freely available online.

Publication Fee:

Hard copies of NILAS may be produced at a publication fee of N30, 000 (Thirty Thousand Naira) for manuscripts submitted within Nigeria or $50 (Fifty US dollars) for manuscripts from outside Nigeria to reach all those who may not readily have access to the Internet.

 

Self-Archiving Policy:

  • NILAS allows authors to self-archive their articles in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or national repositories.
  • Authors may deposit the following versions:
    - Pre-print (author's original manuscript)
    - Post-print (author's accepted manuscript after peer review)
    - Publisher's version (final published version)
  • Authors may self-archive their articles at any time after publication.
  • Deposited articles must include complete metadata, including title, authors, abstract, and DOI.
  • NILAS reserves the right to modify or update this policy as needed.
  • Authors are encouraged to consult with their institutions or funding agencies to determine if they have any specific policies or requirements regarding open access publishing.
