Open Access Policy
Nigerian Language Studies (NILAS) journal adopts a gold access model, which means that:
- NILAS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of N35,000 (Thirty-Five Thousand Naira only) or $100 (one hundred US dollars) for each article accepted for publication.
- Authors or their institutions are responsible for paying the APC.
- Upon payment of the APC, articles will be published under a Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY-4.0) and made freely available online.
Self-Archiving Policy:
- NILAS allows authors to self-archive their articles in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, or national repositories.
- Authors may deposit the following versions:
- Pre-print (author's original manuscript)
- Post-print (author's accepted manuscript after peer review)
- Publisher's version (final published version) - Authors may self-archive their articles at any time after publication.
- Deposited articles must include complete metadata, including title, authors, abstract, and DOI.
- NILAS reserves the right to modify or update this policy as needed.
- Authors are encouraged to consult with their institutions or funding agencies to determine if they have any specific policies or requirements regarding open access publishing.
